Here are some sketches done at the end of October, for your viewing pleasure. I will apologize for my long absence, but I have been sewing my fingers down to the bone, quite literally. In the next couple of weeks I will be posting updates of my progress on 17 costumes for the Philadelphia Skating Club and Humane Society's competition production of Where the Wild Things are.

Enjoy!

John Heinz Wildlife Refuge Excursion

A quiet weekend provided the perfect excuse to go for a hike at the John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge. I'd never been, and I'm glad Kev suggested it. Our hike was just supposed to be the mini-loop (2 hours around) but we ended up going further than we expected, and ended up hiking for 4 hours straight. After that, I needed a nap, but I got a fire pit instead, and a birthday party. Just as nice :)

These photos are all just nature photography, and I haven't done much thus far, so I hope you enjoy.

A Virginia Beach Weekend

As I'm sure you can guess, I've been driving myself crazy with all the business and busy-ness this summer.

This post is a photo-journal from the weekend of August 21st, of a trip down to VA beach with my lovely friends Theresa, Danyhel and new friend Scott.

Arriving in VA, the sun was just heading down over the western horizon, and we got to Jess' house just in time to have a beer and sit out on her porch to enjoy the incredible sunset.

The next day was a quiet day at the beach, after which we headed to Janis, George and Molly's house for a lovely dinner and a solid night full of sleep.

We enjoyed breakfast, and celebrated the birthday girl...

Wandered around our hosts' adorable, quirky home

Played with the animals

and cars...

And then it was back to the beach for an incredibly glorious day of zoning-out, good people and surf and sand.

All in all, an excellent and much needed vacation from this summer of craziness.

Thanks Tree!
